With my pets on a Monday - Friday, 8 - 5 schedule, they tend to wake me up early to take them outside to potty.
Instead of saying, "restroom" now I say "potty".
I had a dream that our now deceased dog Fancy was alive. She was living with me and very healthy, as I was making sure to address all of her medical needs. She was happy, running around, and could see again.
It was only a dream.
The two of them sat outside of their shared office building. It wasn't very cold, the end of November, but in Texas that doesn't necessarily mean anything in terms of degrees. It was what was to come that made them both shake a bit. She was going to go away for the weekend. It wasn't a long weekend, just a weekend. But it was the longest amount of absence that they'd ever shared, at that time. He stumbled upon his words and his hands did a lot of fidgeting before he could get across what he really wanted to say. She caught on fairly early in the conversation. He didn't realize that she was smiling inside, waiting for him to say it. He was a bit consumed with the insecurity of wether or not it was premature to announce it at that moment. He didn't know she'd already performed mediocre research attempting to determine if there was a set amount of "time". More than a year led up to this moment. Alas it was said, and a sign of relief was felt by all once the two knew. She shared in his sentiment, they shared in each other's. She went away for her weekend, which ended up being a very mentally long weekend. She shared with everyone what had occurred and they were all pleased to hear the happiness in her voice.
Had she died in a plane crash that weekend, things would have ended perfectly.
